Train lunch I enjoyed in a Bullet train heading to Kyoto
Amazake, sweet fermented rice drink, at Shimogamo Shrine, Kyoto
A cup of hot coffee after a cold morning stroll in Kiyomizu Temple, Kyoto
a lil cup of coffee at Hoshino Coffee Shop in Kyoto Station
I formed the dough to bake this local specialty cookie, Nambu Sembei. In Morioka
My first deep-fried soft roe in Kushiro, Hokkaido
Quite pricy toast with jam and coffee at Miyakoshi Coffee provided me with quiet time and space in busy Sapporo station, Hokkaido
The Best Train Meal ever! Rice with grilled scallops, steamed sea urchin and red salmon roe. OH, YUM!!
The last meal in Japan: Cold Soba with shrimp and vege tempura
I'm a foodie and it is not an overstatement to say that one of my purposes to go back to Japan is to eat good food. I also can safely say that all food/meals I ate during my each stay were delicious, yummy and delectable. Food in Japan, either savoy or sweet, rarely disappoint me, unlike here in USA. Japan for sure is a foodies paradise.
In Japan February 2020
日本では何を食べても、どこで食べても、とにかく美味しい
海外に、特にアメリカに住むと、日本の食文化の深さ、広さ、洗練度の高さを心の底から再認識します
そして、いつも楽しみにしている駅弁 なくならないでね
